So, this will be your Christmas card if I ever mail them out!! haha……talk about procrastinating!

I really can’t believe Christmas is this week! Every year it sems to just fly by. In November, Mark and I talked about trying to not rush Christmas. To try and enjoy the entire month of December, instead of planning and running around like crazy. I know, better said than done right! But I think we have kindof accomplished it…….kindof. We have spent lots of time together as a family……watched lots of christmas specials…..enjoyed the Christmas performances at church……gone to look at all of the lights…….sang lots of Christmas songs……..and tried to teach Evan a little more about Jesus’ birth. Hopefully we can work more every year to show Evan (and Ella) the reason why Christmas is so special to us! It seems like, now that I have kids (even a boy), it is so amazing to me that God chose to use a little baby to carry out His plan!

Im sitting here on a cozy Sunday afternoon with the laptop and a good blanket. ( i love our new leather couch, but on chilly days the couch is a little chilly too!) Everyone is napping, so I need to catch up on this blog! So much has happened that I meant to blog about…….just havent had the time!! So…….here we go!

Girls weekend!
It was fabulous! We talked, we got to be completely ourselves, we shopped for our reunion (which we might be the only ones there, but we will look fabulous!), and we ate some great food! We are all big mexican and italian fans….so we usually stick to mexican for lunch, italian for dinner. It was such a great break from the norm……I really enjoyed our girl time! I came back refreshed to be mommy, housecleaner, wife, daughter, sister…….and everything else again.

mom’s birthday!
My mom turned 50 this month!!!! She won’t admit it….but she did. We had a fun day with her…. she didn’t want a big deal made out of her birthday….she never does. Not that it has anything to do with her age, she just doesnt like a fuss to be made over her…….she doesnt want us to spend our time or money worrying about her birthday. But she did want to just spend the day……which I loved too. She met us at the mall for lunch, then mark and evan headed home for a nap, and us girls had a day of shopping. Ella is such a good baby!! She loves to be in her stroller looking around at everything! Never fusses one bit! We shopped at the mall for a while, then Sams (evans birthday stuff), tjmaxx, new walmart, sams again!, and then we headed out to her house for a cookout. Mark and Evan met us, her boyfriend came, and of course my uncle. We cooked hot dogs on the grill and mom made a big pot of chili. We had bought an italian cream cake at sams that mom had been eyeing for a while now. it was amazing! love cake.

this weekend!
friday we met a couple from church at party central to let the kids play! evan loved it. its funny how much can change in 6 months. he used to really only enjoy the bounce house, but this time he loved everything…….i dont know how many times he and lilah went through the obstacle course. And of course he told me he was a football player when he went through and knocked over the blowup things. Andrea’s husband works nights so he was there and Mark worked early that morning and had a break until 3 so he met us up there. I think they had as much fun as the kids! After that we went to lunch with them at Ed & Kay’s. I hadn’t been there in forever, but I am sure it will be a new favorite. It was soooo good. Seriously, you cant go wrong with country cooking.

Saturday, Mark took some pics at our house in the morning. They turned out really good. I think they are really going to like them. After lunch and naps (for all of us), we went to the fair for a few hours. We had such a good time. I love those days where you aren’t rushed……just strolling along and letting Evan take it all in (and Ella…..she loved looking at everything!) Of course we spent a lot of time in the livestock area. Evan loves animals. Then we went and he rode some rides! He thought that was a lot of fun. We finally left when it was about to get dark and chilly…..

Today, after naps, we are heading out to the pumpkin patch……..mark is going to take some pics of lilah and norah, and we are going to play out there for a while. Im sure some pics of the kiddos are too follow!

So, my super sweet friend adrienne mailed me a surprise today……and of course i did my trademark squeal when i opened it!! It was the sweetest little tutu for ella!! She didn’t even know i have been looking on ebay and even lost a few bids on tutus!! So, ella will be a little princess/fairy for halloween…….just have to come up with a funky bow to go with it.

here she is!! (have i mentioned i love being married to a photographer!!, i am definetly framing this one!)

Can’t wait for girls weekend! The fun starts friday! I am so happy to get to do all of this fun preggo stuff with adrienne. She was always so good to me when i was preg…….even drove home when both of the kiddos were born. I remember tearing up watching her leave after Evan was here. I think i was a little toooo medicated and a little post pardum crazy! ha. Hopefully we will find some cute outfits for our 10th highschool reunion too……..i definetly dont have anything cute to wear for that….plus i need some input on what i should get. Cant wait to shop, eat, shop, eat, and laugh. i love these girls more than anything, no matter how long we spend apart, we always remain super close and get to be “ourselves” around each other! the older i get, the more i thank jesus for such close friendships.

back to school!!

This week was our first week of mothers day out!!!  I decided a couple of weeks ago that we needed a fall schedule.  Something where our weeks were planned out………trying to get away from the craziness of summer.  I know summers are supposed to be crazy…..but I was tired of summer a while ago!  Now I am ready for a schedule!  I am slowly realizing that I need a somewhat lenient schedule to survive…….I think it makes me so much more organized, happier, fulfilled, and even a better mommy.  So, when I heard they were still searching for teachers I called and volunteered myself…..even recruited a fellow mom that I am getting to know.  I get paid a little cash (I count it as shopping, Christmas, everyone and their mothers birthday money) and the kiddos get to go for free.  Ella doesnt really need it, but Evan is at the age where he needs to be around other people rather than me all the time!  We go on Tues and Thurs.   School is actually 9:30-2:30……but I have been trying to get there by around 8:30.  Tuesday was a little crazy……..we get ready, diaper bags packed, lunches packed, backpack on………then Evan tells me his stomach itches……I told him to scratch it.  In the meantime my mom calls to wish him a happy first day……I go to find him in the living room to let him talk to her and then it happens…….he pukes!  ugh!  By now it is 8:15, Ella is still asleep and I have to figure out what to do…….luckily Dad was able to come and watch him for the day.  Of course Evan didnt get sick again……some kindof fluke thing I guess.  Not to mention I was supposed to take home a friends 2 kids and watch them…….luckily she ended up not needing me anyways.  So Evans first day was today…..he really loved it.  His teacher traced him on a big piece of paper and took all of his statistics and jotted them down on the side.  I dont remember all of them, just that he was 38 pounds!!!  I forgot what his height was…..I will have to look.  sidenote……..i read up on his carseat and it said it only goes to 40 pounds…..i thought this was odd…..guess we will be buying a booster seat soon!?

My class is 5 little ones from 18-24 months……..2 girls….3 boys.  They are such sweeties.  Some are a little shy at first, but usually come around after half an hour or so.  I think we are going to have a lot of fun this year……….Im glad that I am liking it.  Now I just have to make sure Ella is situated.  She hasnt been taking very good naps there……I am really into naps.  Good sleepers= happy babies.  She really is the best baby, really laid back and loves to play…..i probably will just give the teacher some suggestions on tues…..she may hate that…but oh well.  I will have to post pics soon of evan all ready for school…..they are on marks camera and i do not touch it!!  haha……i cant afford to replace it!

love.
